Some companies that offer up dangerous goods for carriage may not need to appoint a DGSA because the amount of goods is not sufficient to meet all the requirements of the Carriage of Dangerous Goods Regulations. Some regulations still need to be adhered to and having an experienced consultant on board to monitor compliance can be a great benefit.

Chemical warehousing sites often come under the Dangerous Substances (Notification and Marking of Sites ) Regulations 1990 (NAMOS) which require various measures to be put into place to increase safety. Other larger sites may come under more stringent regulations to the size of the site and the amount of dangerous substances stored there.
